SCRIP (Grocery Store Gift Cards) Using gift cards (scrip) from our local grocery stores (Martin's and Weis') is an extremely easy and convenient fundraiser! You buy, for example, a $50 card (looks like a credit card) that you use to buy $50 worth of groceries. The cards are easy to and convenient to use. Just present them to the cashier as you would a credit or debit card. The store contributes 5% of that total (in this case, $2.50) to the synagogue! It really adds up over time. Donations to our Congregation, always needed, are a meaningful way to congratulate friends on simchas or show you care in time of sorrow. Funds The contributor may designate any of the following Funds. For a contribution of $5-$9 a printed card is sent. A special card in calligraphy is sent for a contribution of $10 or more. (The minimum contribution to the Endowment Fund is $10; several other funds have other minimums or special requirements.) Our funds are:
General Fund: general operating expenses Endowment Fund: interest from the fund may be used to perpetuate the operation of the synagogue Choir Fund: for the needs of the choir and choir director Children's Library Fund: for books and other items for our school library Dor Le Dor Fund: for school trips and other items for our children Handicapped Accessible Fund: for an elevator and accessible restrooms Jeanne Jacobs Senior Fund: to treat our senior members to lunches out and other occasions Sharon Wagshal Fund: for aid in providing Jewish experiences for our children (e.g., camp scholarships, scholarships for trips to Israel ) Prayer Book Fund: to purchase new prayer books Tree Fund: to purchase trees in Israel
